AtoZ is the result of a long standing friendship between musicians James Arben and Fabio Zambelli.
They met while studying for their Masters Degrees at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in 2003. During those two years their musical directions started to converge and they played in a regular quintet which performed in London. This culminated with a gig playing at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club with Jim Hart, a guest on their first recorded album, Look Right. This was released on 33 records in 2008.

A to Z have performed regularly on the London scene and have performed at the The London Jazz Festival and at Ryan's Bar in Stoke Newington, The Amersham Arms, London and Cafe 1001 in Brick Lane.

They have toured Italy and Switzerland, and also played at the B flat Club in Berlin, The Locarno Film Festival and the Note di Notte Festival in Verbania, Italy. They have also headlined the popular jazz festival "Estival Jazz Libyssonis" in Sardinia.
